LuPone Goes On

By GEOFF JOHNSTON

Published on January 17, 2008

Theater buffs know Tony winner Patti LuPone from her legendary Broadway career, as she effortlessly inhabited some of the Great White Way's most memorable performances in everything from Evita and Anything Goes to Gypsy and Sweeney Todd. Lawyers know Patti LuPone as the actress who sued Andrew Lloyd Webber 15 years ago after the composer recast a role in Sunset Boulevard that was originally contracted to her. Contract builders know LuPone from the swimming pool she had installed with the compensation received per her out-of-court breach-of-contract settlement with Andrew Lloyd Webber. The rest of us know her as Corky's mom on Life Goes On. TITAS presents Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda: An Evening with Patti Lupone, 8 p.m. Tuesday at McFarlin Auditorium, 6405 Boaz Lane. Tickets run from $20 to $100. Call 214-528-5576 or visit titas.org.
